Smithville Recreation Center


The City of Smithville Indoor Recreation Center is a city-owned 22,500 square foot multi-purpose facility. The building features a full-sized UIL standard gymnasium and theatrical stage. It is also equipped with a computer room, meeting rooms, a kitchen, two dance studios, a racquetball court, and a weight room. It is also home to instructor-based fitness and dance classes, including Jazzercise, Powerflex, Tae Kwon Do, and yoga, along with youth programs like Little Dribblers basketball & Little Bumpers volleyball, an after-school program, summer activities, and activities for senior citizens.

The Rec Center is located at 106 Royston Street (Hwy 95 at 1st Street) in Smithville. Individual, youth (ages 6-17), seasoned (over 65), and family memberships are available and can be paid quarterly or annually. You may also choose to pay $1/day for use of the basketball court or $5/day for use of the racquetball court or weight room. The Rec Center’s Hours of Operation are Monday–Thursday 8:00am-9:00pm, Friday 8:00am-6:30pm, Saturday 10:00am-2:00pm, and Sunday 2:00pm-6:00pm.
