Capital of Texas Zoo

Lions and tigers and bears, oh my! The Capital of Texas Zoo is a great place to bring your kids for an amazing animal adventure. From zebras and peacocks to pigs and goats, the Capital of Texas Zoo is home to hundreds of unique animal species. Some of the new exhibits and animals include: a Nocturnal Animals House (featuring a group of over 30 Fruit Bats), European Wild Boars, 100 Quaker Parrots, a Patas Monkey Exhibit, and the fun and entertaining Prairie Dog Town. Skip with a wallaby. Leap with the lemurs. Pounce with the mountain lion. See what new baby animal was born, or come and meet BooBoo and BiBi the Himalayan Black Bears or Moses the famous camel, the Zoo’s Ambassador.

The Capital of Texas Zoo also offers a traveling Zoo Show or Petting Zoo for your child’s birthday party, daycare, preschool, or other event for a unique and enriching experience. The Zoo Show presents a demonstration of live exotic reptiles, mammals, and birds, and the Petting Zoo brings gentle farm animals to interact with your kids. The professional, experienced staff and a special and diverse cast of tamed animals help make each and every program an interactive adventure. Or have your child’s birthday party at the Zoo for a memorable and thrilling event! Field trips are also available. The trails are a little rough, though, so wear good hiking shoes and bring a heavy-duty stroller if you have babies or toddlers.

The Capital of Texas Zoo is located at 376A Jenkins Road in Cedar Creek, TX. The Zoo is open daily, and the Winter Hours of Operation are Weekdays 10am-4pm and Weekends 10am-5pm. Admission is $7.99 for ages 12 & up, $6.99 for ages 2-11, and free for ages 2 & under. Only cash and Texas checks are accepted at the gate, but you may purchase tickets in advance via credit card on their website. Annual memberships/passes are also available.
