Smithville Zombie Walk - 2010

I love everything about fall… football, the cooler weather, and especially Halloween! If, like me, you’re a fan of this ghoulishly fun holiday, then you’re sure to enjoy Smithville’s Zombie Walk & Ghost Tour. Both events take place tomorrow, Saturday, Oct. 30th, with the Zombie Walk starting at 6:30pm and the Ghost Tour beginning at 8:00pm.

The Zombie Walk is a parade of the “undead” set to music and led by drama and theatre students from Smithville High School. Everyone is invited, but you must wear a costume to participate. The parade starts at the north/river end of Main Street, by the Colorado River overlook. The Zombie Walk is a fun, free, family event and a great photo opportunity. I mean, who doesn’t want to watch a Zombie parade???

On the Ghost Tour, guests will ride in comfort on Smithville’s jitney train and will disembark to enter some of the locations on the tour. The tales all begin with a true and verifiable event, while the “legend” that follows each story can be taken with a grain of salt. Think of it as a cross between history and theatre!

Tickets for the Ghost Tour are $10 per person and can be purchased at the tour itself (on a space available basis) or in advance at Milk & Honey Antiques, located at 218 Main Street. The tour begins at the Gazebo at 8pm. All proceeds go to the Smithville Business Association’s advertising budget and will be used to attract tourism to Smithville. For more information, click here.
