Veterans Weekend Car Show - 2010

I am very proud to be the wife of a Veteran and the daughter and granddaughter of Veterans. I think it's very important to honor those who have served our country with their dedication, sacrifice, and willingness to die to protect our freedom. To quote Hotrodhotline's Richard "Too Low" Hass: "Honoring our American Veterans is not something they take lightly in Bastrop, Texas."

In honor of Veterans Day, the Bastrop Downtown Business Alliance, along with the Bastrop Area Cruisers, is hosting the 5th Annual Veterans Day Car Show, a 3-day event with over 300 custom, hotrod, and collector cars. There will be a special Veterans Ceremony with guest speaker Brigadier General Joyce L. Stevens and a Veterans Canteen with free drinks and snacks for Veterans. Veterans are encouraged to meet at the Courthouse at 10:45am to join the Veterans Procession to the Main Stage for the Veterans Ceremony at 11:00am. Come celebrate our Veterans with classic cars, live music, shopping, food, and fun!

Also, don't forget to visit the Veterans Wall of Honor at 923 Main Street in the vacant lot next to Baxters on Main. You can view pictures of Veterans, write a card of thanks, donate items for care packages, or donate old cell phones, which will be recycled by AT&T to purchase long distance calling cards for troops overseas and Soldiers Angels.
