  • Smithville's Veteran's Memorial Park Fundraiser, 8am-midnight at Riverbend Park in Smithville. Games, kickball, volleyball, washers, horseshoes, bed races, parade, BBQ cook-off, lunch from 11am-2pm for $10/plate, a live auction in the afternoon, and live music and dancing 4:30pm-midnight, inlcuding Cory Morrow, Todd Fritch, Darby Ledbetter, Catfish & the Waterdogs, and the Ben Johnson Band!   • Bastrop County Safety Fair, 9am-6pm at Mayfest Hill Park, located on Loop 150 behine the American Legion and across from the entrance to Bastrop State Park. There will be booths, a bouncy house, a "live" tazer demo, a dunking booth to dunk your favorite cop, a mock jail, and more. Admission is one can of food per person to benefit the Bastrop County Emergency Food Pantry.
  • Tubing on the Colorado River - Opening Weekend, 10am-5pm at Bastrop River Company, located at 601 Chestnut Street in the Crossing. $10 tube rental includes shuttle service. Put-in at Bob Bryant Park. Float to Fisherman's Park, where you can return your tubes. Click here for more info.

  • Good Shepherd Lutheran Church Spring Festival, 10am-3pm at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church Little Sheep Learning Center, located at 202 Hwy 71 West in Bastrop. There will be food, drinks, a petting zoo, a silent auction, a kid's obstacle course and more. There is a small fee for each event, or you can pay one price for all events. Profits go to playground improvements and teacher appreciation.

  • Smithville Volunteer Fire Department Annual Fundraiser, 11am at Riverbend Park in Smithville. Lunch starts at 11am, costs $8/plate, and includes fried chicken, sausage, and sides. Drive Thru/To-Go plates are available. Live auction starts at 1pm. 
  • Country Music Jam, American Legion Post 533, located at 3003 Loop 150 East in Bastrop, 2pm-6pm. Hosted by The Country Side Men. Traditional country and western dance music of yesteryear. If you play or sing, bring your instrument and join the fun! No cover charge, family friendly, smoke free, air conditioned, public welcome. Cold drinks are available.
  • FAVA German Lieder Recital, 3pm at the FAVA Center, located at 16 Depot Street in Elgin. Admission in FREE!
