Heart of Texas Green Expo - 2012

The Heart of Texas Green Expo will be held June 8th-9th at the Bastrop Convention & Exhibition Center. The Expo addresses important issues in energy, conservation, and sustainability and serves as a stimulus to move us in the direction of a culture that is both economically viable and ecologically sound. There will be over 50 speakers, panels, and demonstrations! The theme of the information-sharing is the four elements—fire, water, earth, and air—and how they affect our lives.

Day 1: Friday, June 8th, 8am-7pm. Friday's program will focus on issues for professionals, such as city planners, architects and green builders but the public is also invited to attend. At 7pm, Bill Oliver and the Otter Space Band will perform live, followed by nationally known folk and children’s artist, Sara Hickman. The concert is FREE and open to the community! Day 2: Saturday, June 9th, 8am-5pm. Saturday's program will be a fun-filled atmosphere featuring live music, lots of kids’ show and tell demonstrations, indoor and outdoor exhibits featuring alternative energy (solar, wind, geothermal, etc.) and more.

A one-day pass is $5, a two-day pass is $8, and kids 12 and under are FREE. To view the Program Guide, which includes speaker bios, the speaker and workshop schedule, a map, and more, click here.
