One-day educational workshop designed to help watershed residents improve and protect their water resources by getting involved in local watershed protection and management activities. Friday, June 15th
  • Jazzercise Free Fridays, 6:00am, 7:50am, 9:00am, 10:30am (lite), 4:30pm and 5:40pm at Bastrop Jazzercise, located at 612 Old Austin Highway. ALL Friday classes at Bastrop Jazzercise are FREE during the month of June! Childcare is available for $1/child at most classes. Plus, if you join on Free Friday, you will get 1/2 off your joining fee!

  • Bastrop Juneteenth Heritage Jubilee, 6pm at the Bastrop Convention & Exhibition Center. Food, music, and dancing. Tickets are $25 each or $250.00 for a table of 8.  SOLD OUT!!!
  • Movie at the Pool, "Despicable Me," 6:30pm (movie starts at dusk) at the Elgin Municipal Pool, located at 802 Ave C in Elgin. Admission is FREE!
  • Balderdash! Melodrama, 7:30pm at Playhouse Smithville, located at 110 Main Street in Smithville. Villains abound, heroes alight, heroines aflutter, popcorn is thrown, and boo's are abundant! Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased online here.
  • Night Hike, 8:30-9:30pm at Bastrop State Park. Join a naturalist to call for owls, watch for bats, listen for toads, and experience the park's trails after dark. Wear walking shoes and bring water, insect repellent, and a flashlight for this mile-long hike. Meet at the kiosk by the playground. Not recommended for children under the age of six. Free after park entry fees.

Saturday, June 16th
  • River Runner Chili Cook-Off, beginning at 8am at the American Legion Post 533, located at 3003 Loop 150 East in Bastrop. Proceeds benefit the Family Crisis Center. There will be a raffle, silent auction, chili cook-off with judging, dinner, live music, and more! Entry Fee to Cook: $20 on Saturday, and $18 on Sunday.
  • Bastrop Juneteenth/Blue Flame Cruisers Car & Bike Show, 8am-2pm in the Bastrop City Hall parking lot, located at 1311 Chestnut Street in Bastrop. Prizes for Best Car, Truck, Motorcycle, Kid's Choice, and Juneteenth Committee Pick. $20 entry fee per vehicle. Admission for viewing is FREE and open to the public. For more info, click here.
  • Texas Boater Education Course, 8:30am-4:30pm at McKinney Roughs Nature Park. $20/person ages 13 and up. Satisfies the state's mandatory boater education requirements. Pre-registration is required. Register online at www.lcra.org/outdoorprograms.
  • Go Fish! A Learn-to-Fish Event, 9am-12:30pm at Buescher State Park. Families can learn the basics of fishing through fun, hands-on activities. Take away a fishing fun pack and enter the drawing for door prizes. Equipment and bait provided or bring your own. No license necessary. Adults must accompany children. For more info, click here.
  • 1st Annual Ponies and Pups Trail Ride, 9am at Walnut Creek Arena, located on Hwy 20 at 394 Pleasant Chapel Road in Cedar Creek. Trail ride begins at 9:30am. $25 to ride, bring your own horse. Soft drinks, tea, and food available from Rusty's Cafe. Riders and non-riders welcome. All proceeds with go to Bastrop County Urgent Animals for transport, medical, and training needs.

  • Old MacDonald Party, 10am-12pm at Bob Bryant Park, located at 600 Charles Blvd in Bastrop. Games, crafts, food, a petting zoo, and more! Admission is FREE!
  • 2nd Annual Disc Golf Tournament, 10am-2pm at Thomas Memorial Park in Elgin, 411 Madison Street in Elgin. $10/person entry fee.
  • St David's Emergency Center Community Open House, 10am-1pm at St David's Emergency Center, located at 3201 Hwy 71 East in Bastrop. There will be delicious food, cool treats, fun activities for the kids, important health screenings, and more!
  • River Valley Farmers' Market, 10am at Veterans' Memorial Park in Elgin. Fresh eggs, veggies, plants, and more!
  • Bastrop Juneteenth Celebration, 10am-11pm. The annual Bastrop Juneteenth Parade begins at 10am at Fisherman's Park and travels through historic downtown Bastrop until the final destination of Kerr Community Park. The Bastrop Juneteenth Emancipation Program honoring the history, culture and heritage of Juneteenth, begins at 11:30am at Kerr Community Park, located at the corner of MLK and Walnut Streets. There will be live music, speakers and entertainment. The Bastrop Juneteenth Celebration and Street Dance will begin at 8pm on Main Street in downtown Bastrop on Main Street. All events are FREE and open to the public.
  • Wine Tasting with Pedernales Cellars, 12-5pm at Cripple Creek and Company, located at 928A Main Street in downtown Bastrop. There will be at least 6 wines to sample, appetizers, and more. Event is FREE and open to the public.

  • Benefit for Bear, 3:30pm at Ronnie's One Oak Bar, located at 816 FM 1441 in Bastrop. $3.00 catfish plates, 50/50, and raffle.
  • Paige Hamburger Supper, 5pm at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, located at 1242 Stockade Ranch Road in Paige. There will be hamburgers, homemade ice cream, a raffle, an auction, an old-fashioned country store, and more!
  • Baskets for Hope Fundraiser, 6-9pm at at the St. Vincent de Paul Parish Hall, located at 200 Mills Street in Smithville. Raffle tickets for themed baskets will be on sale for $1 each or 6 for $5. Enjoy live music and food. The proceeds benefit the less fortunate families in the Smithville area with basic needs, rent, utilities, medication and CARTS transportation.
  • 3rd Annual Shane Boyd Senior Pro Bullriding Invitational, 6pm at Mayfest Hill Arena, located behind the American Legion on Loop 150 in Bastrop. $10.00 for adults, $5.00 for children ages 6 to 12, and children ages 5 and under are FREE.
