Thursday, July 12th
  • Cedar Creek Band Oil Change Days, 7am-6pm at Lost Pines Toyota. Get your oil changed and help the Cedar Creek Band! Every Thursday in July, Lost Pines Toyota will donate $10 from every oil change to the Cedar Creek Band Boosters. Oil changes are $32.95 (includes 5 quarts of conventional oil). Just mention that you are there for the Cedar Creek Band and they will take care of the rest.

Friday, July 13th

  • Elgin Rodeo, gates open at 7pm, rodeo starts at 8pm. Presented by the Texas Lost Pines Riding Club at the TLPRC Arena on Hwy 95 South (next to the VFW). Admission is $10/adult, $5/child ages 5-12, children 4 and under are free.
  • McDade Watermelon Festival Street Dance, 8pm-midnight, at the McDade Watermelon Festival grounds. Featuring the Crop Dusters. Admission is FREE!
  • Night Hike, 8:30-9:30pm at Bastrop State Park. Join a naturalist to call for owls, watch for bats, listen for toads, and experience the park's trails after dark. Wear walking shoes and bring water, insect repellent, and a flashlight for this mile-long hike. Meet at the kiosk by the playground. Not recommended for children under the age of six. Free after park entry fees.

Saturday, July 14th
  • McDade Watermelon Festival Car Show, 8am-2pm, at the McDade Watermelon Festival grounds. There is no registration fee but donations are welcome. Admission is FREE!
  • McDade Watermelon Festival, 9am-8pm, at the McDade Watermelon Festival grounds. There will be Bingo, a Country Walk, Horseshoe Pitching Contest, Seed Spitting Contest, Washer Pitching Contest, Prize Melon Auction, concessions, arts/crafts, live music, and more! The Prize Melon Weigh-In is from 7-9am. The Grand Parade starts at 10:30am in downtown McDade. Admission is FREE!
  • Go Fish! A Learn-to-Fish Event, 9am-12:30pm at Bastrop State Park. Families can learn the basics of fishing through fun, hands-on activities. Take away a fishing fun pack and enter the drawing for door prizes. Equipment and bait provided or bring your own. No license necessary. Adults must accompany children. For more info, click here.

  • Beach Party, 10am-2pm, at Elgin Memorial Park. Huge water slide, sand castle making, snacks, and fun activities for all ages.
  • Wine Tasting, 12-5pm at Cripple Creek & Company, located at 928A Main Street in Bastrop. Pleasant Hill Winery will be sampling at least 6 wines.
  • Movies in the Park, "The Zookeeper," 7:00-10:30pm in Bob Bryant Park in Bastrop. Bring a blanket, chairs, and your own snacks. There will be fun and games with Poppy the Clown and the Bastrop YMCA, beginning at 7pm, followed by a movie at dusk. Admission is FREE!
  • Elgin Rodeo, gates open at 7pm, rodeo starts at 8pm. Presented by the Texas Lost Pines Riding Club at the TLPRC Arena on Hwy 95 South (next to the VFW). Admission is $10/adult, $5/child ages 5-12, children 4 and under are free.
  • Jazz Under the Stars, 7:30-10:00pm at the Hyatt Lost Pines Resort & Spa in the Ampitheater. The Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort and Spa is partnering with renowned jazz trumpeter and composer Hannibal Lokumbe and The Liberation Orchestra to host “Jazz Under The Stars,” a two-part summer concert series on Saturday, July 14th and Saturday, July 28th at the Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Amphitheater. Admission is FREE to guests and local residents.

Sunday, July 15th
  • Doyle Dykes Concert, 7pm at Bastrop Christian Outreach Center, located at 1096 Hwy 71 West in Bastrop. Dykes is a guitar legend in the making! Doors open at 6:30pm. Admission is FREE. Donations are welcome.
