Holiday by the Tracks - 2012

Ring in the holidays with a downtown celebration that will fill you with the spirit of the season... Holiday by the Tracks in Elgin! The festivities begin with a Lighted Christmas Parade down Main Street on Friday, Nov. 30th at 6pm. Then, enjoy a fun-filled day on Saturday, Dec. 1st, at the Holiday by the Tracks Festival.

Holiday by the Tracks includes a holiday bazaar, live music and entertainment at the Gazebo, pictures with Santa, delicious food, activities for the kids, a Live Nativity produced by St Peter’s Lutheran Church, and more. Plus, local shops will be offering special deals and discounts throughout downtown.

The event is held in partnership with Barry Perez Studios, located at 621 Lexington, and the River Valley Farmers Market, who will have fresh produce and baked goods available in addition to handmade arts and crafts, unique items, and one of a kind creations by artists from the Central Texas area.

Holiday by the Tracks Entertainment Schedule:
  • 10:00am- Opening announcement and Awards for Recycle Art Contest
  • 10:00-10:30am- Elgin Middle School Jazz Band
  • 10:45-11:15am- Small Town Heroes
  • 11:30am-12:00pm- Elgin Middle School Choir
  • 12:15-12:45pm- Ballet Folklorico
  • 1:00-1:30pm- First Baptist Church Choir
  • 1:45-2:15pm- The Dance Studio
  • 2:30-2:45pm- Wave to Elgin Wildcats on Main Street
  • 2:45-3:15pm- Tuck N Tumble
  • 3:30-4:00pm- Amber & Nick
Area non-profit groups will also be at Holiday By the Tracks to share information about their projects and raise funds to support operations. Plus, check out the "FestiviTrees," creative Christmas trees decorated with or created from recycled materials and displayed in local Elgin businesses. When you vote for your favorite, your name will be entered into a special prize drawing.
