White Elephant Gift Exchange 12-28-12

It's a white elephant gift exchange! Friday, Dec. 28th, 7-10pm at the Owl Wine Bar and Home Goods Store, located at 106 N. Main Street in Elgin. There will be games and drink specials, and part of the proceeds will go to local nonprofit organizations. Make sure to bring a wrapped "white elephant" gift to exchange!

What is a white elephant gift exchange?

A white elephant gift exchange is a fun holiday party game in which inexpensive, entertaining gifts are exchanged (and sometimes stolen). Each participant supplies a wrapped gift. A white elephant gift is typically a humorous gift or a used item from home. Participants draw numbers to see who goes first. The first person chooses a gift to open. The next person can either pick a gift to open or "steal" a gift from someone else. Typically, an item can only be stolen 3 times. The game ends when the last person has taken their turn.

  1. Have a great time at the white elephant gift exchange this year...

We love these gift swaps so much we started creating unique ways to play the white elephant game. Next year you might try the "Lefty the White Elephant" story and add one extra level to the party.
