Top 10 Hot Spots for Zac Efron & Tom Welling

I'll admit it. I have celebrity fever. Super hot actors Zac Efron (High School Musical, 17 Again, The Lucky One, New Years Eve, etc.) and Tom Welling (Smallville, Cheaper by the Dozen, The Fog, etc.) have both been spotted in downtown Bastrop, Texas, and I'm downright giddy. They're here filming the movie "Parkland" in Austin, Texas.

"Parkland" is a recounting of the chaotic events that occurred at Dallas' Parkland Hospital on the day U.S. President John F. Kennedy was assassinated and also stars Marcia Gay Harden, Paul Giamatti, Billy Bob Thornton, Ron Livingston, and Colin Hanks, among others. Plus, Tom Hanks is one of the producers!

Since these handsome fellas might not be familiar with all the fabulous things Bastrop has to offer, I thought I'd give them a hand. So, without futher ado, here are the top 10 hot spots I think Zac Efron & Tom Welling should visit while they're here...

#1- Bastrop Brewhouse

With beautiful decks overlooking the Colorado River, locally brewed beer, good food, and live music, the Bastrop Brewhouse is definitely one of the top hot spots to visit in Bastrop. I would go on, but both guys have already been spotted here (Zac Efron twice), so they obviously can check this one off their list!

#2- Maxine's on Main

Maxine's on Main is a true Bastrop gem. Rated by Texas Monthly as one of the "40 Best Small-Town Cafes" in Texas and one of the "40 Best Breakfast Places" in Texas, Maxine's on Main is a good old fashioned homestyle cafe with character to spare. Plus, Maxine's serves delicious pancakes bigger than the plate they come on and the BEST desserts around. I don't know about Tom, but Zac has been spotted here a couple of times already, so it looks like he's off to a great start.

#3- Gracie's

Known for their chicken fried steak and home cooking, Gracie's (The Grace Miller) is a quaint and casual dining option that prides itself on its southern hospitality. Relax on the covered patio and enjoy some live music or dine inside and choose from delicious dishes like beef tips, grilled pork chops, meatloaf, chicken fried steak, and more! I figure Zac and Tom don't get a whole lot of good old fashioned home cookin' when they're on the road, so I think Gracie's would definitely hit the spot.

#4- The Roadhouse

The Roadhouse is a local favorite that was recognized by Texas Monthly as one of the "50 Best Burgers in Texas." Besides freshly grilled burgers on a sourdough bun, the Roadhouse also serves delicious chicken sandwiches, salads, and a huge variety of tasty vegetarian dishes. When Jack Black was in town filming "Bernie" he stopped by for a burger and loved it. Zac and Tom would love it, too.

#5- Ramos #2

How can I create a list of hot spots for Bastrop, Texas and not include at least one Tex-Mex restaurant? Plus, today is National Margarita Day, and Ramos #2 has award-winning margaritas! Zac and Tom, if you're reading this, you should definitely make plans to grab a margarita and chow down on some of their famous jalapeno ranch sauce. You won't be disappointed!

#6- Cindy's Downtown/Cindy's Gone Hog Wild

I know that Cindy's Downtown and Cindy's Gone Hog Wild are two different places, but they're both equally cool nightlife options, so I lumped them together. (On second thought, Cindy's Gone Hog Wild is probably just a little bit cooler, since it's bigger and has the whole biker bar vibe, but Cindy's Downtown is located downtown, so that makes them even.) There's a fully stocked bar at both locations, pool tables, great burgers and appetizers, and sometimes, live music or karaoke. Zac was actually spotted at Cindy's Downtown earlier this week, so maybe he should give Tom a call and head over to Cindy's (either location) for an ice cold beer and a friendly game of pool.

#7- Papa Woody's Icehouse

Papa Woody's Icehouse is a fun bar and dance hall with great drink specials and some of the best live music around. They've got pool tables, karaoke, and a full menu which includes appetizers, sandwiches, seafood, burgers, wieners, and more. For a good time, Papa Woody's can't be beat. Zac and Tom, it's a little hard to find, so if you need directions, I'd be more than happy to be your personal guide. ;)

#8- The Sugar Shack

A visit to Bastrop is not complete without a visit to the Sugar Shack. Famous or not, who doesn't love candy, fudge, and ice cream? And great gifts like adorable, fuzzy stuffed animals and rubber band guns? Candy is sweet. Zac is sweet. Tom is sweet. I think I've got a toothache!

#9- Bastrop State Park

Athough they're both probably very tired from filming, I still think Zac and Tom should spend some time at Bastrop State Park. I don't know if they'll feel up to hiking, but there's plenty of other relaxing activities they could do... like fishing, golfing, or just sitting by the lake, reflecting on the beauty of the scenery and the meaning of life. Even after the wildfires, Bastrop State Park remains the pride and joy of Bastrop. So, of course, Zac and Tom should experience it.

#10- My House

Seriously... like I'm going to create a list of places Zac Efron and Tom Welling should visit while they're here and NOT include my house? Dear Zac and Tom, I make a mean green bean casserole, and my husband could throw a couple steaks on the grill. You're both welcome anytime. :)

Me and my family ♥

P.S. For those of you who have, like me, caught celebrity fever, other "hot spots" these hotties have been spotted include Simply Sweet Bastrop (I almost added that one to the list!), Walmart, HEB, and Walgreens. Or was it CVS? See, they're just like the rest of us. Except famous.
