First Friday (June 7, 2013)

First Friday Art Walk, Bastrop, Texas
First Friday is a monthly event held in downtown Bastrop on the first Friday of every month to celebrate Bastrop's thriving art scene. This month, First Friday will be held on June 7th, from 5-9pm. Many downtown businesses, restaurants, and shops will stay open late, and there will be live music, refreshments, and local artwork throughout the downtown area.

Stop by the Bastrop Fine Arts Guild in their new location at 815 Main Street, from 6-8pm, for an Art Show & Reception with a spotlight on the works of C.M. Mike Henderson.

Art Connections Gallery celebrate the grand opening of their new location at 908 Main Street at their "Big Move Bash" from 6-9pm, which will include bubbly, belly dancers, music by Michael Austin, woodworking by featured artist Brad Dawson, and more!

As an added bonus, the First United Methodist Church of Bastrop is hosting Parents Night Out during First Friday!!! They will have games, snacks, movies, and more. Friday, Mar. 1st, 6-10pm at 1201 Main Street in Bastrop. Children ages 0–7. $10 for the first child and $5 for each additional sibling. Call (512) 321-2201 to reserve your space. Reservations are required.

Besides all the art and shopping, you'll definitely want to stop by Larryland Music, located in the Crossing at 601 Chestnut Street, for Pickin' on the Porch from 6-9pm. Bring your instrument (acoustic guitar, banjo, hand drum, stand up bass, harmonica, etc.) and play along!
