From Drab to Fab - Nirvana Cosmetic Spa

I wasn't sure what to expect as I walked up the stairs in an old historic building on Main Street. I was about to do something I had never done before... get eyelash extensions. I've always had short, skimpy eyelashes, but I thought eyelash extensions were only for movie stars or maybe basketball wives, not regular folks like me. Then, I met D'Angela Adams.

D'Angela runs Nirvana Cosmetics Spa in a quaint little upstairs office at 1018 Main Street, next to Salon 1018. She offers eyelash extensions and permanent make-up and has plans to expand her services in the future.

I got up on the table (the same kind used for massages and facials), laid on my back, and relaxed. The table was soft and pillowy, so relaxation was easy. D'Angela started by taping down my bottom lashes. It was a little uncomfortable at first, but I quickly got used to it. She had me close my eyes, and she attached each individual eyelash extension to one of my natural ones. The whole process took about 2 hours.

When she was done, I was shocked at the difference! My eyelashes looked full and long and gorgeous! The best part is that I don't have to put on mascara. My lashes look red carpet ready all the time. I don't usually wear make-up on a daily basis, but with my new eyelash extensions, all I have to do is put on a little eye shadow and a dab of lip gloss, and I look like a million dollars!

Here's a couple of frequently asked questions about eyelash extensions:

What Are Lash Extensions?
Lash Extensions are an exact replica of a natural lash. They are thinker at the base, curl and taper to a finer point adding length and thickness of natural eyelashes, and are a practical, convenient and beautiful alternative to the daily use of mascara.

How Long Do They Really Last?
Lash extensions can be worn throughout the year with minimal maintenance.  Touch-ups are recommended after the initial full set application to refill any lashes that have cycled out.

Can Lash Extensions Harm Natural Lashes?
When applied properly, lash extensions will not harm natural lashes. Several different “separation” steps during the application process so each extension is adhered to a single natural lash in order to prevent interruption of the lash growth cycle.
If you're interested in eyelash extensions or permanent make-up, you should give D'Angela a call. She'll have you looking like a movie star!
