Candlelight Christmas Carol Stroll - 2014

One thing I truly love about Bastrop is how it embraces its history and traditions of the past. A truly great tradition, which conjures images of men and women dressed in Victorian-era clothing begging for figgy pudding, is Christmas caroling. For a little history behind Christmas caroling and how it began, click here.

An annual tradition since the '90s, the Bastrop Ministerial Alliance will be hosting the Candlelight Christmas Carol Stroll through downtown Bastrop on Friday, Dec. 19th starting at 6:30pm.

The Northern Route will start at the Chamber of Commerce Kiosk at the corner of Main and Spring Streets, across from the Post Office. The Southern Route will start at Primera Baptist Church, located at 306 Paul C. Bell Street. After the stroll, refreshments will be served in the Parish Center of Ascension Catholic Church, located at 802 Pine Street in downtown Bastrop.

Now, who wants some figgy pudding? Victorian bonnets and top hats not required.
