Top 10 Things to Do This Weekend (Apr 3-5, 2015)

1. First Friday Art Walk - Apr. 3rd, 5:30-8:30pm in downtown Bastrop. Art, live music, shopping, dining, and more! FREE!

2. Pickin' on the Porch - Apr. 3rd, 8-10pm at Larryland Music and Neighbor's Kitchen and Yard, located in the Crossing at 601 Chestnut Street. Bring your instrument and join in, or sit back and relax while listening to everyone jam together. FREE!

3. Redeem Fitness Easter WOD - Apr. 4th, 9-10am at Redeem Fitness, located at in Bastrop. Immediately following the WOD, there will be an Easter Egg Hunt for the kids at 10am. FREE!

4. Exploring the Forest - Apr. 4th, 10-11am at Buescher State Park. Join a Master Naturalist for a one-mile walk through the park, and explore the history, flora and fauna that make up Buescher State Park. Free after park entry fees.

5. Discover the Lost Pines - Apr. 4th, 10-11am at Bastrop State Park. Explore the park’s unique history, plants and animals. Free after park entry fees.

6. Nature Hike - Apr. 4th, 2:30-3:30pm at Bastrop State Park. Visitors will hike with a Ranger along the gold and blue trails observing nature with a brief stop at the lake before hiking back to the origination point at the picnic area. Free after park entry fees.

7. Paws for a Cause - Apr. 4th, 6-9pm at Calvary Episcopal Church's Heritage Hall, located at 1022 Main Street in Bastrop. $10/person. Spaghetti dinner, silent auction, and entertainment including comedian Scott Hardy. Plus, Gladys Hardy from the Ellen DeGeneres show will call in! All profits go to help sick and injured dogs that come into the Bastrop County Animal Shelter. The Hardy-Hayes Refuge manages this fund. The shelter has no medical coverage in their budget, so this is how we make sure that shelter dogs get vet care. Purchase tickets here.

8. 61st Annual Easter Sunrise Service - Apr. 5th, 7-9am at Bastrop State Park behind the Refectory. Hosted by the Bastrop Christian Ministerial Alliance. Pastor John Eason of Celebration Community Church will conduct the message. Music by Terry Lyne Moore and Dale Burke. Bring a lawn chair. Park entrance fees will be waived for those attending the service. If it's raining, the service will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, located on Loop 150 across from the entrance to the State Park. FREE!

9. Yoga on the Patio - Apr. 5th, 8:30-9:30am at Neighbor's Kitchen and Yard, located in the Crossing at 601 Chestnut Street in Bastrop. Suggested donation of $10-20.

10. Coon-Ass Easter Bash - Apr. 5th, 12-5pm at Neighbor's Kitchen and Yard, located in the Crossing at 601 Chestnut Street in Bastrop. All-you-can-eat crawfish, beer, yard games (horseshoes and washers), Easter Egg Hunt (for the kids), live DJ, open mic, and more! $10-$15 minimum donation. Proceeds benefit Keep Bastrop County Beautiful and the Lost Pines Nature Trails.
