4. Smithville Trades Day - Jan. 16th, 10am-3pm in downtown Smithville. Shopping, food, live music, and more! FREE!

5. On the Trail with the Buffalo Soldiers - Jan. 16th, 10am-5pm at Bastrop State Park. Experience history and outdoor survival on this fun, family-friendly adventure! Free after park entry fees.

6. Cool Cats Chili Cookoff - Jan. 16th, 11am-2pm at the Bastrop 1832 Farmer's Market, located at 1302 Chestnut Street in Bastrop. Enter the cook-off, buy a bowl of chili for lunch, get a little treat from the bake sale, or bid in the silent auction. Proceeds benefit Bastrop CATS.

7. Musikatz Jazz Brunch - Jan. 16th, 1pm at Neighbor's Kitchen and Yard, located in the Crossing at 601 Chestnut Street in Bastrop. Get jazzed while you munch your brunch or lunch!

8. Yoga! In the Park! - Jan. 17th, 2-3pm in Fisherman's Park, located at 1200 Willow Street in Bastrop (along the Riverwalk in the grass below Neighbor's Kitchen and Yard). Suggested donation of $10-$20.

9. MLK Scholarship Program - Jan. 17th, 3-5pm at Calvary Episcopal Church, located at 603 Spring Street in Bastrop. Admission is FREE!

10. MLK Day: 27th Walk for Peace, Justice, and Equality - Jan. 18th, beginning at 10am at the Bastrop County Court House, located at 803 Pine Street and ending at the Bastrop Convention and Exhibition Center, located at . MLK Day Program begins at 11am featuring keynote speaker University of Texas National Football Champion Vince Young. The Honor Choir will perform, and refreshments will be provided. Admission is FREE!
