Top 10 Things to Do This Weekend (Feb 5-7, 2016)

1. First Friday Art Walk - Feb. 5th, 5:30-8:30pm in downtown Bastrop. Art, shopping, food, and more! Individual FFAW events here, here, here, and here.

2. Pickin' on the Porch - Feb. 5th, beginning at 6pm on the porch between Back Porch Ceramics and Neighbor's Kitchen and Yard in the Crossing, located at 601 Chestnut Street in downtown Bastrop. Bring your instrument and play along or just come and enjoy the show!

3. "Women in Country" - Feb. 5th-6th at 7:30pm and Feb. 7th at 2:30pm at the Bastrop Opera House, located at 711 Spring Street in downtown Bastrop. $15/person. Purchase tickets at the door or online here.

4. Wild by Nature Guided Hike - Feb. 6th, 10am-12pm at McKinney Roughs Nature Park. No registration required.

5. 4th Annual City Wide Black History Show - Feb. 6th, beginning at 6:30pm at the Elgin ISD Administration Building Auditorium, located at 1002 N. Ave. C in Elgin. Featuring: The Thomas Family, Rev. Luchus McShan, Elgin Community Choir, Mt. Carmel Drill Team, Bro. Byron Mitchell, and Winn's Memorial Praise Team. Admission is $3-$7/person.

6. 27th Annual Fish Fry and Fun Night - Feb. 6th, 6-8pm at the Smithville Rec Center, located at 106 Royston Street in Smithville. Dinner and prize drawing! Co-sponsored by the Smithville Noon Lion's Club and the Smithville Volunteer Fire Department.

7. Sapling Sunday - Feb. 7th, 7:30am-12:00pm at Bastrop State Park. Help plant trees! Pre-registration is required.

8. Yoga! In the Park! - Feb. 7th, 2-3pm in Fisherman's Park, located at 1200 Willow Street in Bastrop (along the Riverwalk in the grass below Neighbor's Kitchen and Yard). Suggested donation of $10-$20.

9. The Real Super Bowl Tail Gate Party - Feb. 7th, beginning at 2pm at Back 9 Bar, located 834 Hwy 71 W in Bastrop. They will be giving away 200 POUNDS of BBQ and FREE sides, too! Contests, giveaways, washers, golf range, cornhole, and more!

10. Super Sunday Funday - Feb. 7th, beginning at 4pm at Viejo's Tacos y Tequila, located at 912 Main Street in downtown Bastrop. 3 areas to enjoy the game: patio, main room, and Kleinert room. 300" projection screen, flat screen TVs, tailgate games, DJ, crawfish boil, bloody mary/mimosa bar, margarita, beer, & food specials, and more!
