Top 10 Things to Do This Weekend (Apr 7-9, 2017)


1. First Friday Art Walk - April 7th, 5:30-8:30pm in downtown Bastrop. Art, food, shopping, live music, and more! Admission is FREE! Also, don't forget to stop by Pickin' on the Porch from 6-10pm on the porch between Larryland Music and Neighbor's Kitchen and Yard, located in the Crossing at 601 Chestnut Street in Bastrop. Feel free to bring your own instrument and play along!

2. "Vintage Film Festival" - April 7th, 7-9pm & April 8th, 2-4pm & 7-9pm at the Bastrop Opera House, located at 711 Spring Street in Bastrop. Enjoy showings of the classic movies "Once Upon a Time in the West" on Friday at 7pm, ""Hearts of the West" on Saturday at 2pm, and "Shane" on Saturday at 7pm. The Vintage Film Festival is part of the month-long Yesterfest celebration at the historic Bastrop Opera House. Concessions available. Donations accepted at the door.

3. "Reflections in Silhouette" - April 7th, 7:30-9:30pm at Playhouse Smithville, located at 110 Main Street in Smithville. Annual cabaret musical production - a song, dance, and laugh-filled musical revue. $10/person.

4. Spirit of Rosanky Spring Fest - April 8th, 6am-7pm in the field behind the Wagon Wheel Gas-N-Go, located at 2987 Hwy 304 S in Rosanky. There will be a community garage sale, softball social, and more!

5. Predators of the Pines Guided Hike - April 8th, 10:00-11:30am at Bastrop State Park. Join a Master Naturalist on this moderate 1-mile hike to discover who the hunters are in the Lost Pines! 6. Healthy Kids Day **FEATURED EVENT** - April 8th, 11am – 2pm at Fisherman's Park, located at Willow Street in Bastrop. Hosted by the Bastrop YMCA and the City of Bastrop, Healthy Kids Day is a fun outdoors event with games and booths with helpful information about living a healthy lifestyle. Admission is FREE!


7. Kidz Day - April 8th, 11am-3pm at Living Room Books & Gifts, located at 301 Hwy 71 W in Bastrop. Enjoy food, games, face painting, crafts. story time, and Easter Egg Hunts at 11:30am and 2:30pm. Admission is FREE!

8. Cookie Decorating with the Easter Bunny - April 8th, 1:00-2:30pm at the Sugar Shack, located at 114 Loop 150 W in Bastrop. Enjoy cookie decorating and photos with the Easter Bunny himself. Tickets are $7.00/person. Purchase tickets online here or call (512) 321-3777. Bring your own camera!


9. Spring Painting Event - April 8th, 1-3pm at the Front Room Wine Bar, located at 116 Main Street in Smithville. Join artist Amanda Eaves to create your own spring painting. Tickets are $25/person for all the supplies you need. Call 512-237-3626 for reservations.

10. The Easter Triumph Live Passion Play - April 8th, 3:00-5:30pm & 6:00-7:30pm at the Jerry Fay Wilhelm Center for the Performing Arts, located at 1401 Cedar Street in Bastrop. The Easter Triumph is a live passion play sharing the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. More info here. Admission is FREE!
