Top 10 Things to Do This Weekend (June 9-11, 2017)

1. "Love's Vacancy" - June 9th, 7-9pm and June 10th, 3-5pm & 7-9pm at the Jerry Fay Wilhelm Center for the Performing Arts, located at 1401 Cedar Street in Bastrop. "Love's Vacancy" is a Gospel Stage Play written and produced by Chevalier DeShay.

2. "Clinically Undepressed" - June 9th & 10th, 7:30pm at Playhouse Smithville, located at 110 Main Street in Smithville. What if you were born unable to feel angry? "Clinically Undepressed," by Will Holcomb, is a play about a young man whose inability to react in anger impacts the lives of everyone he knows. $10/person.

3. Elgin Juneteenth Street Dance & Celebration - June 9th, 8pm-midnight in downtown Elgin at Main & Depot Streets. Plus, don't forget about the Juneteenth Parade on Saturday, June 10th at 10am, and there will be a Juneteenth Celebration going on all day Saturday in downtown Elgin. Admission is FREE!

4. Walk with a Doc - June 10th, 9-10am at Bob Bryant Park in Bastrop. Walk with a doctor and other clinicians from Bastrop-Lee County Medical Society. Chat about different health topics and ask questions before walking the loop trail at the park together. Admission is FREE!

5. Go Fish! Learn to Fish Event - June 10th, 9am-12pm at at Buescher State Park. Youth and adults can learn the basics of fishing through fun, hands-on activities. Take away a fishing fun pack, and enter the drawing for door prizes. Equipment and bait provided or bring your own. No fishing license necessary. Free after park entry fees. 6. Vacation Bible School & Splash Day **FEATURED EVENT** - June 10th, 10am-3pm at New Life in Christ, located at 1176 Hwy 21 W in Cedar Creek. Vacation Bible School for ages 5-12 10am-12pm; lunch provided 12:00-12:30pm for ages 5-12; outdoor water games 12:30-3:00pm for all ages. Pre-register online here. Admission is FREE!

7. Movies in the Park: "The Secret Life of Pets" - June 10th, 5-10pm at Fisherman's Park in Bastrop. Fun activities before the movie including Ms. Poppy the Clown. Concessions available. Movie starts at dusk. Bring your own chairs and blankets. Admission is FREE!

8. Boots, BBQ & Casino for CASA - June 10th, 5-11pm at the Bastrop Convention & Exhibition Center, located at 1408 Chestnut Street in Bastrop. Tickets in advance are $50/person or $90/couple. Proceeds benefit CASA of Bastrop, serving Bastrop, Lee, and Fayette Counties. Purchase tickets online here.

9. Eric Johnson Concert with Special Guest Arielle - June 10th, 7:30-10:00pm at the Jerry Fay Wilhelm Center for the Performing Arts, located at 1401 Cedar Street in Bastrop. Eric Johnson is a Grammy award winning guitar master. General Admission $45/person; VIP admission $75/person. Proceeds benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of Bastrop County. Purchase tickets online here.

10. African Drum Classes - June 11th, 3-4pm at Be a Deer, Dear, located at 1022 Main Street in Bastrop. Discover the joy of drumming and learn to speak DJEMBE! This class is a six week long class beginning on Sunday, June 11th. Drums provided if you don't have your own, or you may purchase a drum from Be A Deer, Dear Jewelry and Gift Shop.
