Top 10 Things to Do This Weekend (June 30-July 2, 2017)


1. "Flaming Guns of the Purple Sage" - June 30th & July 1st, 7:30pm at the 1832 Tavern, located at 809 Main Street in Bastrop. Doors open at 7:20pm. Presented by Lost Rabbit Collective, "Flaming Guns of the Purple Sage" is a dark comedy by Jane Martin. Tickets are $25/person, and Student, Senior, Military, Veteran's, Group, and Industry rates are available.

2. Run, White & Blue 5K Glow Run & Kids 1K - June 30th, 7:30-9:00pm at Fisherman's Park in Bastrop. 5K registration is $25/person, and Kids 1K registration is $15/child. Register online here.

3. Run, White & Blue After Race Glow Street Dance - June 30th, 9pm-midnight at Fisherman's Park in Bastrop. Dance to the night away to tunes spun by DJ Ivan! Plus, the Bastrop YMCA will have a glow booth where you can get decorated with neon glow paint! Admission is FREE!

4. DBA Pet & Pal Parade - July 1st, 8:30am-12:00pm in downtown Bastrop. Registration starts at 8:30am at the Bastrop County Courthouse lawn, judging will begin at 9:15am, and the parade starts at 10am. Grab a spirited patriotic outfit for you and your pet, and join the most adorable parade around!  Prizes will be awarded. Admission is FREE!

5. Bastrop Patriotic Festival **FEATURED EVENT** - July 1st, 10am-9pm at Fisherman's Park in Bastrop. Fireworks display, Austin Symphonic Band, Bastrop Area Cruisers Car Show, hot dog, hot pepper, and pie eating contests, leg shaving contest, seed spitting contest, Bastrop Honor Choir, dominos and washers tournaments, sand volleyball, Zumba, Tae Kwon-Do demonstration, petting zoo and children's activities, Water Wonderland, and MORE!!! Admission is FREE! (Some activities have costs.) More info here.


6. Fourth of July Party - July 1st, 10am-midnight at Rosanky Ice House, located at 2992 Hwy 304 in Rosanky. Washers & Horseshoe Tournaments beginning at 10am, activities for the kids, the Wyatt Ellis Band at 9pm, and more! Plus, BBQ plates starting at $9.99 with brisket or chicken, potato salad, coleslaw, and beans. Admission is FREE!

7. Artists in Action - July 1st, 11am-5pm at the Lost Pines Art Center, located at Chestnut Street in Bastrop. Your choice of 5 different DIY crafting sessions, supplies, and a League artist as a guide. Taped Painting, Rolled Paper Beads, Alcohol Ink Necklace, Watercolor Collage, and Decorative Mugs. $15/person per session.

8. Fourth Annual 4th of July Shindig **FEATURED EVENT** - July 1st, beginning at 3pm at Neighbor's Kitchen and Yard, located in the Crossing at 601 Chestnut Street in Bastrop. Enjoy live music, yard games, and the best seats in town to watch the fireworks display! Live music: Beat Root Revival at 3pm, The Texas KGB at 5pm, & The Watts Brothers Band at 7pm. Admission is FREE!


9. Porch Stories at The Little Freedom Shoppe - July 1st, 4-6pm at The Little Freedom Shoppe, located in the Crossing at 601 Chestnut Street in Bastrop. Enjoy story time and entertainment for kids of all ages. Admission is FREE!

10. Yoga! in the Park - July 2nd, 8:30-9:45am at Neighbor's Kitchen and Yard, located in the Crossing at 601 Chestnut Street in Bastrop. Suggested donation of $10-$20.
